To most, yesterday just seemed like another hump day, but for me, it was magical! Magic City Fashion Week hosted another amazing event called Bloggers Night Out at the Blue Monkey Lounge. And though it only lasted two hours, time seemed to have stood still with all of the amazing energy in the room from the beautiful people that occupied it.

Perhaps one of the most phenomenal people in attendance was the lovely, Vic Styles, who dropped major advice on what to do (and what has helped her) when it comes to blogging. And when it comes to someone who has made $20,000 in the past year from blogging alone, you tend to listen when they speak. Here are a few of her tips:

  • MULTIPLE STREAMS OF INCOME – Make sure that you can support yourself. If you’re not making the same amount of money (or more) that your job is providing, then it is NOT time to quit!
  • KNOW YOUR PURPOSE – There will be a lot of things you’ll have to do for free, so make sure that you have an actual purpose for what you are doing and that you’re not doing it for the fame, fortune, & free stuff.
  • GET SERIOUS – Get an editorial calendar, look into SEO, and invest in a media kit. If you want your blog/brand to be a business, then you should treat it as such!

These are only a few of the many pointers she shared that I swear are nothing but truth. But if you want more tips and information on blogging full-time, be sure to visit Vic’s website where you can register for BLOGGING BASICS or HOW TO IG LIKE A PRO. And as someone who has taken a course from this charming woman, I must say that it is worth every penny!

Aside from Vic, it was nice to see familiar faces and meet new ones! A few of the women I already knew of were Christena Melea, Javacia Harris Bowser, Andrea Turner, Keicia Shanta, Aliscia Gilmore, & Andie Allen. Another incredible thing was the fact that I was able to be in a room full of people with the same interests and goals I have, and I was accepted – as well as encouraged – for being myself and to keep doing it.

But this only a piece of the magic going on in the city and I’m excited to see what is going to happen when everyone comes together for the MCFW experience this October! And if you haven’t signed up already to be a part of it, then what are you waiting for? Go to Magic City Fashion Week’s website and apply right now so you don’t miss out on anything else!

Until next time…

Peace, Love, Blessings, & Hugs
